Minister Kufuna promotes sanitation and hygiene behaviour change

Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister John Kufuna says behaviour change is cardinal in the promotion of good sanitation and hygiene practices in communities. Mr Kufuna was speaking in Namwala at a National Celebration of Open Defecation Free (ODF) verified villages in Chief Mukobela’s area of the ila people of Namwala District. He said the Government realised that sanitation and hygiene played a big role in achieving public health, economic development and environmental protection for the people of Zambia. Mr Kufuna said it was for this reason that the Government in its manifesto, policies and vision 2030 had placed emphasis on the goal to improve sanitation and hygiene for all Zambians, including those living in rural areas.
