Le Bureau Régional de l’UNICEF pour l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre et le Bureau de l’UNICEF au Mali ont organisé un Atelier Régional de Formation sur l’Assainissement Total Piloté par les Communautés (ATPC) du 25 au 28 novembre 2008 à Bamako. Au cours de cet atelier, l’approche ATPC a été déclenchée dans trois villages de la Commune de Diogare, Cercle de Kati : à Komitan, Bambadougou et Mangoroutou.
‘Living Blue’ is the brand name for the textiles that have been produced by Nijera Cottage and Village Industries (NCVI), a private limited company set up by producers to represent the various social enterprises which they own as autonomous financial entities.
‘Living Blue’, a brand that stands for high quality, hand-made products, is an example of how CLTS can build the solidarity and empower communities to engage in other livelihood-related activities beyond sanitation.

From one Open Defecation Free (ODF) village (Jaribuni in Kilifi District) in November 2007 to four as of 19th November 2008, with close to 40 villages awaiting verification to be declared ODF, it is now clear that CLTS is steadily becoming a sanitation success story in Kenya.
