A sustentabilidade das latrinas é uma questão fundamental de CLTS. Solos arenosos ou rochosos, inundações sazonais e térmitas podem criar dificuldades às comunidades que assumiram elas próprias a responsabilidade do seu saneamento, como resultado do CLTS, e que estão a construir latrinas. O Manual de CLTS identifica a necessidade de abordagens da concepção participativa durante as sessões de acompanhamento com as comunidades capacitadas.
The 14th meeting of the UK's Sanitation Community of Practice was held on Thursday 10th April at Oxfam's head office in Oxford. The meeting's focus was on Sanitation in Emergencies.
The meeting aimed to:
• Outline recent trends in emergency sanitation
• Explore the applicability of CLTS (community led total sanitation) in an emergency context
• Highlight sanitation technologies for use in emergency and humanitarian contexts
• Develop an appreciation of accessibility issues when designing and planning latrines and sanitation facilities.
Plan Philippines and the Provincial Health Office of Western Samar facilitated a CLTS training from the 16th to the 19th March 2014 for local government staff, representatives of 25 barangays/villages and health workers in Marabut Municipality of Western Samar Provinces. They are interested in using CLTS as a long term sanitation strategy for enhancing the capacity of the duty bearers to address the sanitation problems in villages badly hit by typhoon Yolanda.
La durabilité des latrines est un enjeu crucial de l’ATPC. Les sols sablonneux ou rocheux , les inondations saisonnières ou encore les termites peuvent présenter de graves défis pour les communautés qui ont choisi de s’occuper de leur propre assainissement grâce à l’ATPC et qui optent pour la construction de latrines. Le manuel de l’ATPC identifie le besoin d’approches par conception participative durant des sessions de suivi avec des communautés ayant fait l’objet d’un déclenchement.
