Other learnings were around natural leaders and the importance of tapping into their skills in countries, strengthening partnerships and networking. Subsequently, most people pledged to share their lessons and reflections through blogging, email updates, case studies, and photo stories among others.

Some tips to engage the media shared were; Conducting media press tours; building rapport with journalists, orienting Journalists on your project/ program, underpinning research findings through contributing articles, etc. There is thus opportunity to leverage on the media to elate the profile of sanitation, more specifically in promotion the community Led Total Sanitation approach, which has proven to be an effective community self help approach to improving their sanitation situation.
