Liquid Dynamics: Rethinking Sustainability in Water and Sanitation @ World Water Week
In Stockholm for World Water Week ?
World Water Week
Please join the STEPS Centre’s water team led by Dr Lyla Mehta for lunchtime coffee and cake, straight after the Closing Plenary on Friday 21st August.
We will be examining the concept of ‘liquid dynamics’ – often neglected patterns of complexity and interaction between the social, technological and ecological dimensions of water and sanitation. Presentations and discussions will draw on research in peri-urban areas and community-led total sanitation to address how alternative pathways can lead to pro-poor sustainability and social justice in relation to water and sanitation.
About the STEPS Centre
The STEPS Centre (Social, Technological and Environmental Pathways to Sustainability) is an interdisciplinary global research and policy engagement hub that unites development studies with science and technology studies. Based at the Institute of Development Studies and SPRU Science and Technology Policy Research at the University of Sussex, with partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America, we are funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.
When: Friday 21st August from 13.15 – 14.15
Where: Room K24, Stockholm International Fairs (Stockholmsmässan), Älvsjö
